Fern Lucille (Elliott) Wunibald, 103, of Cheney, NE departed this life peacefully to her heavenly home on December 13, 2018. Born August 22, 1915 at home on a farm near Malcolm, NE to James and Anna Mae Ferguson Elliott. Worked for Western Electric as a wiring technician for 16 years. Active member of the Cheney United Methodist Church, Rebekahs, volunteered as an usher at the Lied Center for over 10 years, Lancaster Chorus, and was instrumental in the organization of the Agricultural & Home areas of the NE State Fair for many years. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, homemaker and gardener.
Fern is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol Lederer, Shirley Griffith, Deborah Riley, Ron Wunibald, Nancy Larimer, Judy Jones, Jane Jenkins, David Wunibald and her loving neighbor & friend, Linda Spanel. Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ernest Henry Wunibald. Fern’s love, friendship and warm smile touched many in her 103 years.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday (12-19-18) at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr. (S. 40th & Yankee Hill Rd.). Burial at Cheney Cemetery. Visitation with family greeting friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday (12-18-18) at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel.
