Lillian R. Byrnes (Chittim), Lincoln, NE went to be with the Lord June 15, 2018, at the age of 106. Her ability to memorize Scripture and passion for preaching the gospel touched many lives. Born in Worth County, MO, Lillian moved to Lincoln in 1928 and worked at the glove factory. In 1930 she married the boy next door, Wallace Byrnes. Lillian had several employers through the years including NU Extension Division and Eastmont Towers where she worked as an LPN. Family, Bible studies and helping others brought her the greatest joy.
Preceded in death by parents, George and Sarah Chittim, husband Wallace, three sisters and four brothers. Left to cherish the memories of Lillian are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a multitude of friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (6-20-18) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastors Pete Schroeder and Floyd Sauer officiating.
Memorials to: Cotner Center, 1540 N. Cotner Blvd. (05), Immanuel Church, 941 Charleston St.(08) or donor’s favorite charity.
Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm Tuesday with family present from 6 – 8 p.m. at Roper and Sons.
