Nancy Christine Sutton Taylor, 66, of Omaha, NE, passed away surrounded by family on September 18, 2017. She was preceded by her parents, Charles and Opal Sutton, and her brother, Richard. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Douglas Taylor; her daughter, Lauren and husband Ryan Edwards; her niece, Elizabeth and husband, Geoffrey Lemon, and their children, Connor, Spencer, Gavin, and Tessa; as well as her father-in-law, Vance Taylor. She also has two devoted dogs, Chyna and Neeko, who never left her side.
She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 5, 1951 and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in social work. She and her husband moved to Omaha, where her sense of style and love of beauty led her to a tenderly loved Victorian home and gardens. Anyone who had the luck to know Nancy knew that she had an uncommon heart, full of kindness and love toward others. She made it a point to see the good in others and express appreciation for them. She was fiercely loyal to friends and family, and loved deeply and unconditionally. She will be deeply and painfully missed, but her life will be remembered and celebrated by those who knew and loved her.
At her request, she will be cremated, and her ashes will remain with her family. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 4530 A St., Lincoln, NE on September 22, 2017 at 3pm.
Memorial donations may be given to the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras.
