Obituary

Jeanne Marie Jasa

October 1, 1950 - August 29, 2017

Jimmy D.

Jeanne Marie (Hellerich) Jasa, 66, Lincoln, passed away August 29, 2017. Jeanne was born October 1, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Alvin and Marie (Gatos) Hellerich.

Jeanne started her celebrated teaching career with Norris Public Schools, eventually owned and operated her own pre-school, and ultimately retired from Lincoln Public Schools in 2013. The example of grace and compassion she demonstrated in education for more than 30 years are hallmarks of her career. Her unmatched patience and accommodating personality are characteristics those she worked with and taught will fondly remember.

Time spent with family brought Jeanne her greatest joy. She adored her grandchildren and made it a point to give each of them the gifts of unlimited love and kindness so central to her life. Her family cherishes every moment Jeanne spent with them and the positive effects she has had on each of their lives will prevail far beyond her valued time on this earth.

Those closest to Jeanne know that the number of people who have benefitted from and received her unconditional love, unsolicited kindness and unwavering generosity are too numerous to count. Fortunately, most were the ones who needed it the most – our children.

Family members include her husband, Jim; daughter, Amy (Jason) Roche; son, Matt (Candace) Jasa; grandchildren, Connor, Natalie, Nicole, and Ashley Roche; mother, Marie Hellerich; sister, Charlotte (John) Mills; brother, Randy (Mari) Hellerich; nieces, Brooke and Rachel Hellerich; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron Jasa, Lorraine (Duane) Ebke, Gayle (Helen) Jasa; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Alvin Hellerich.

Prayer Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday (9-17-17) Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd. with Pastor Rhonda Bostrom officiating. A Celebration of Life Gathering will follow at Wilderness Ridge, 1800 Wilderness Woods Place from 3-6 p.m.

Prior private family committal service at Oak Creek Cemetery, Raymond, Nebraska.

Memorials to Sheridan Lutheran Church, Friendship Home or the family for future designation.
